Maintenance work for ships
In a graving dock, sludge is extracted from the belly of a ship. Large suction diameters are used as considerable amounts of suction material need to be extracted at high conveying rates. Here the suction work is done with a BlowVac vacuum loader which has the optimum suction power for this job.
A further important application in ship building is the extraction of blasting material which collects when metal surfaces are prepared for painting. For this application, mobile electrically driven units are frequently used. They are brought to the work place with the help of a crane.
In ship building, due to heavy suction materials, vacuum units with a high suction power of 800 mbar are required. Therefore the suction power is either provided by mobile BlowVac or VacTrailer units or by compact suction units based on KS Units.
